Try this...

I had a few friends over for dinner a couple weeks ago and decided to make soft tacos. I couldn't decide what to do with my chicken so when I saw this I figured I'd give it a try. It turned out super yummy and I just had to pass it on. The only thing I do differently is use regular onions and I saute them with the chicken in olive oil before adding the rest of the stuff. This recipe is SUPER easy, too. If you have a Kroger nearby you can double the deliciousness and use their homemade tortillas (I do unless I'm making my own). You cannot go wrong! Enjoy!

In other news, another Valentine's day passed without any recognition of it from the Chase Master. I'm beyond caring at this point. His birthday is precisely one week prior and we had a really fun day together. The temple, followed by a trip to Central Market to enjoy the Festival of Chocolate (it's like it was DESIGNED for him/me). While there we also picked up some sushi and ingredients for our dinner (rib-eye and asparagus...this blog is making you so hungry, isn't it?). After that we headed off to the Russian Banya. For those who don't know, Chase spent two years living in and around Yekaterinburg, Russia before we got married. He was doing a service mission for our church. Anyway, in Russia they have these spas called Banyas. It's crazy. Basically it's a sauna that gets up to 240 degrees. You go in, come out cool off, go back in, come out, go back in, come out and jump in the freezing cold plunge pool...and you repeat this all day. Ever since I met Chase he's been telling me about the Banya and how awesome it was and how he can't wait to take me. So when we moved here two years ago I thought it was slightly fortuitous that the only Banya in the area happens to be a mile from our house. But we haven't gone. SO I decided to take him for his birthday! Unfortunately it was a surprise and I wasn't aware that you had to set aside a whole day for it. So by the time we got there we only had a couple hours before we had to be back to the kiddos. So, sadly, we weren't able to do the whole Banya experience. We did, however, get to have a hearty, carb-a-mongous lunch/dinner. It was delicious, but the best part was watching Chase interact with the Russian staff and watching him take down that meal like it was his last... I patted myself on the back for a job well done:)

Anyway, I didn't mean to even blog about that, but there you go. Go try the lime chicken! Yum!

We may have used the same chicken recipe, but I found it in HGTV. Anyway, wow, what a great experience! And thanks for a great recipe!

I hope Chase has something lined up to salvage V-day... I'm afraid for him. :-D

No need to be afraid for the poor guy. I'm not upset! We (and by we I mean Chase) never celebrate V-day. I blame it on his dad who also does not celebrate it:)

yes your blog is making me hungry! Evil of you. I am going out to dinner w/ hubby today, maybe we could get something really yummy! :) My ex went to Russia on his mission.. all the ages, all the missions doubt there's any connection.. but his name was Phil Green. Hope you ate lots of chocolate for me! Oh, and no V Day recognition here either! Your not alone:) We spent the day at the snow w/ the kiddos, but it was lots of fun..just not Valentines day :)

Jerry and I spent Valentine's day timing at a Liberal Arts College Championship swim meet. Nothing says romance like hot, steamy, chlorine infused air. The meet ended around 9:30 and Jerry asked if I wanted to go pick out my own flowers at the grocery store, ummmm jee, I think I'll pass.

We did manage to go out to dinner on both Friday and Saturday night alone. Saturday we had about 45 minutes during a warm up break in the meet to grab something to eat. Most efficient dinner ever! Jerry mentioned we've now set the standard for all future dates. I think Jerry can give Chase some pretty stiff competition in the un-romance category.

Karl always buys me chocolates that he likes and then proceeds to eat them. :)

I've had sick kids, so I was glad I was off the hook in the "romance" department, IYKWIM...

Oh, and the last date we had was when we went to lunch at the Quentin Tavern on our last day of Christmas vacation. Can't remember our last date before that. Consider yourselves lucky, girls.

I think this is a sign that I spend too much time on the internet...I looked at IYKWIM and it read in my mind like the actual words. I didn't have to take even a nano-second to think about what it meant. Sad...
Chrysta, everyone is dating more than you. Heck, Sophie is probably getting more dates than you at the moment. In sacrament meeting she's always making goo-goo eyes at her beloved Preston (who is making eyes right back; Chase thought he was going to have to have a talk with him about his intentions...).
One day you'll be done with dental school...again (okay, it's not dental school, but you KWIM - I don't know how to spell Karl's residency).

Not to be the bitter "single" (because I'm really not that sad about being single), but at least you all have someone to not celebrate v-day with! :)

Tried the chicken, loved the chicken. Did it in a crockpot and shredded it and smothered it with your Cafe Rio dressing. I was licking my plate.
