So the boys had a play date today and I had a doc appointment so I dropped them off at our friend's house. When I arrived this is how I found Miles. My girlfriends were all standing around laughing and getting a big kick out of it! My first thought was that his diaper had exploded or something but my friend assured me that they had just had a water fight in the backyard. Of course she has a little girl around the same age as Miles, so instead of putting him in her older son's clothes she just found something of Madeline's for him to wear. SWEET! So here's my little Violet boy! The best part is that on the chest it says "Girl" with a little cheerleader bullhorn. Just in case anyone thought that lavender and dark purple were boy colors the graphic sets them straight. Double sweet. Let's just say that our ensuing trip to the library was short and we decided to go through the drive-thru rather than stay at Playland for dinner!
So the week is going quickly and remarkably well! The first night I couldn't fall asleep until 1:30 but I've been getting better! And I haven't been too stressed with the kids. Here's to hoping the next few days go as smoothly...

So...do you ever notice that your house never makes any sounds except when you're sitting alone in it? I hate being alone! Yuck! Chase is in Chicago for training all week and I just know it's going to be a LONG week! I can't complain too loudly as Christy and Jeni are currently husbandless and Chrysta will have to deal with it soon, too. But DANG it! Why does the house have to make creepy sounds!? The ice-maker in the fridge, the wind, Cam's coughing...it all does it to me. Oh well! I have everything locked up tight (seriously, there's a PADLOCK on the garage door at the moment) so unless someone REALLY wants to get in here we're safe and sound. And you know, it's Carrollton, not Compton.

So this is me. 29 weeks and I'm E-NOR-MOUS! I've only gained 10 pounds! (Okay, I was a few pounds over my normal weight when I got pregnant...) But what is frustrating me is that my butt is growing equally with my belly! SO ANNOYING! And while I feel good most of the time I am already starting to get short of breath. This baby LOVES to stretch and get comfy. Fantastic! I didn't need my lungs anyway, right?!
Okay, but I can't really complain...I just do for fun.
So I've started having appointments every 2 weeks! One reason I love this? Getting to leave the kids for at least an hour and go read People magazine in the doc's waiting room. It's a great de-stresser. And then I get to hear the heartbeat! So much fun.

I just wanna dedicate this to all of you who aren't getting your daily dose of the smooth vocal stylings of Lionel Richie. You really need to work on that...don't worry. We're here to help. Take a moment to bask not only in the glory of his melodic abilities, but also in his AMAZING acting prowess.
Here are a few things to ask yourself while watching:
1. Who names their child Tony Billy Boy?
2. Do you think Lionel Richie has the appropriate background to teach theater?
3. Do you think that a blind girl - hot though she may be - could dance that well?
4. Where DOES Mr. Richie get those fabulous sweaters?
5. Does anybody really find stalking romantic?
6. Don't you think it's rather unkind of LR to keep saying "Is it me you're LOOKING for" when it's obvious that the girl is blind?

Enjoy. We hope it's what you're looking for.

Here's some Jim Gaffigan for you...
I got tagged by Jeni so I have to put this on my blog. . .

A- Attached or single: attached
B- Best Friend: Chase, followed by Pittsburgh Sara
C- Cake or Pie: Easy, both. The only pie I would ever shun is mincemeat.
D- Day of choice: Sunday. Chase is home (hallelujah) and I don't have the spend the day on projects or cleaning. Plus I usually get a couple of hours on the sofa.
E- Essential Item: Probably my computer and cell phone so I can stay in touch with family and friends.
F- Favorite Color: Black. yes, it's the absence of color, but it usually makes me look less obese.
G- Gummi Bears or Worms: Gummi bears because I don't like the edges on the worms. Ewwww...
H- Hometown: Lebanon, PA and Brockville, Ontario were the two major places I remember growing up. There were others...
I- Indulgence(s): Junk food. Namely buttered popcorn, chocolate and ice cream. I have to say that Turkey Hill ice cream is my favorite (and Chase's too) even though everyone here raves over Blue Bell. Sorry Jeni:)
J- January or July: January. It's my birthday month, Christmas stress is over and the Texas version of January is fantastic!
K- Kids: I have two and another one coming, so I'm generally fond of them. Though, I have a problem with kids who aren't mine or my family/friends who are dirty or snotty. I usually have to look away. Not sure why, but something about a grimy kid I don't know is very unappealing.
L: Life is Incomplete Without: Chase
M- Marriage Date: May 7, 2002
N- Number of Siblings: 7 siblings and 11 in-law siblings
O- Oranges or Apples: Christmas oranges
P- Phobias or Fears: Not many. I used to hate driving over the Coronado bridge in San Diego (there's nothing reassuring about a bridge that has Suicide hotline signs every 20 feet) and those bridges between Brockville and Watertown. You guys remember those?! But I'm over bridges and my main fears are a.) my children being taken/drowned/hurt b.)Chase dying in a car accident (those who have seen him drive know why) and c.) needles. The worst part of being pregnant and having a baby is the needles.
Q- Quote(s):Jeni, you picked one of the best ones! So I'll have to go with these from a stand-up act by Jim Gaffigan - it's called "Beyond the Pale" and you should totally google it. Just make sure you go pee before you do.
Jim Gaffigan: I only dated one asian girl, but she was very asian, she was a panda.'
Jim Gaffigan: There is the vegetarian Hot Pocket for those of us who don't want to eat meat, but would still like diarrhea.
Jim Gaffigan: I come from a very big family, nine parents.
Jim Gaffigan: Pie can’t compete with cake. Put candles in a cake, it’s a birthday cake. Put candles in a pie, and somebody’s drunk in the kitchen.
(sorry, I just realized that if you've never SEEN Jim Gaffigan and heard his delivery these might not be that funny...just trust me, they are!)
R- Reason To Smile: Miles' habit of demanding SONG as soon as we get in the car or he sees a computer.
S- Season: Whatever season is cool in Texas. Not a fan of the heat here!
T- Tag Three +: Chrysta, Sara K, Sara S., Christy, Alyssa
U- Unknown Fact About Me: I'm actually carrying twins. Okay, not really. There is very little that people DON'T know about me because I talk far too much.
V- Vegetarian or Oppressor of Animal: I'm all for being nice to animals while they're alive, but they sure are yummy once they're dead and on my plate.
W- Worst Habit: Spending too much time on the internet when I could be napping. Like, uh, right now.
X- X-Rays or Ultrasounds: Ultrasounds. you don't have to lie super still for them. Though, let's face it, I could do without that yucky ultrasound goop.
Y- Your Favorite Food: Poutine (haven't had the real deal in years, but I have craved it hard during this pregnancy thanks to Jeni's trips to Canada - yes, Jeni, I blame you.), buttered popcorn, ice cream, chocolate, SUSHI and Cafe Rio
Z- Zodiac: Capricorn

Well, today's the day! Cameron's birthday! He's FOUR! Can you believe it? Today is the four-year anniversary of the hellish morning that ended the marathon 30-hour labor that resulted in a cherubic, if colicky, little baby named Cameron. I can hardly believe the time has passed so quickly! He's a Big Boy now!
So originally we had planned on doing a big party like last year, but as the time drew closer I realized we're just too busy and he's not going to notice the difference one way or the other. Plus, we would have had to put off the party until the 22nd and what kid wants to wait for their party?! So we decided to have a little shindig at the park with cupcakes and lemonade. We waited until the last minute to send out the email inviting friends, in hopes that we wouldn't get bombarded with gifts. Thankfully some abstained, others couldn't help themselves. We understand:)
The party, which was scheduled for 10 a.m., was a little slow in starting. Remember, we're dealing with my mostly MORMON friends. We sat at the park just watching and waiting for awhile. By 10:30 most of the people had arrived and Cameron demanded that we all sing to him and dig into the "spiderman" cupcakes (ie. regular cupcakes with red and blue sprinkles). He's an atrocious host. In the end everyone had a good time playing and eating and the mom's got some blessed conversation time.
After OUR party it was time to head off to Chik-Fil-A for our other friend's 1st birthday party. Cameron was beside himself that he got to go to TWO happy birthday's! And he didn't even mind when everyone sang happy birthday to Remi instead of him! Good sport!
The best part of the whole day? When it was clearly time to leave and go home for naps (mine and Miles') I said, "Cameron, let's go home and you can look at your new green monster in quiet time!" And he practically RAN out of the Chik-Fil-A play area and got in the car without a fight. SWEET!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAMERON!
