Well, it's true! Chase fought the law and.......................CHASE WON!
So for those who need a refresher, here's the scoop. Chase tried to take a knife on a plane. If you want more info than that, READ THE BLOG MORE OFTEN. So, he was charged with a class C felony. Apparently that's not a good thing. So we got a lawyer (to the tune of $1500) and we were pretty convinced that he was going to have to plead it down to a misdemeanor and be on probation and pay a fine. I guess they take knives personally around here. Actually, in the state of Texas it's illegal to carry a knife at all. Guns yes, knives no. So that only added to our thinking that Chase would get convicted of something.
So yesterday was the date for the grand jury. Chase put on his best blue suit and went to meet with the lawyer so he could practice his "I swear I'm innocent" face. He's already pretty good at it, so it wasn't too much of a stretch. At around noon he went in before the grand jury and told his story. They didn't ask a single question of him! I guess that's pretty abnormal, so the lawyer thought it was a good thing. Well, today we found out that they completely dismissed the whole thing! Not a misdemeanor, no fine, no probation. Chase is free and clear!!!!!! What a blessing! So we're very happy and very excited. Here are some pictures of Chase enjoying his freedom.
Lastly, we found some great pajamas that Kevin and Susan (Chase's aunt and uncle) gave us. They used to be Brandon's and now they're Cameron's (or Spiderman, as he introduces himself to people in nursery and primary). You can see he's getting pretty good at throwing webs! If anyone needs saving, let us know. We'll send him your way.

YEAH FOR CHASE! I knew he'd win. Come on, how could you convict Chase Rawlins of a crime?

P.S. I made Cafe Rio dressing tonight. Y.U.M. My roommates also thank you!

Yay! What wonderful news. Now that it turned out OK, he's fair game for felon jokes. I ALSO made the Cafe Rio dressing last night - YUM. It is good on a salad and chicken wraps and even a spoon.
