If this were Facebook it would say, "Anna can't wait for Miles to grow a butt."

So we're at the park after picking up Cameron from preschool and everyone is running around enjoying the beautiful weather.

Except me.

Because all I could see was Miles' butt sticking out every 10 seconds.

As a mom of three you can imagine that I spend my fair share of time hitching up droopy drawers. Since the invention of the built-in belt I do this considerably less, but still. So anyway, as I'm running around the park trying to cover the incessant plumber-bum all I could think is, "I can't wait for Miles to grow an honest-to-goodness, real, live BOTTOM!"

And then I got to thinking that my mental Wish List is definitely in need of some fine tuning.

Before I was a mom I always had a running list going of the things I wanted. Sometimes they were purchases (Volvo Sportwagon - this is still on my WL, though I have way too many kids for it now), sometimes they were personal goals - like losing that (1)5 pounds that never seemed to go away on it's own despite my meticulous diet of salads, movie theater popcorn and chocolate.

But now that I'm a mom my WL has changed a lot. I spend oodles of time drooling over things like baby clothes, carseats, strollers, diaper bags and Pedipeds. When I'm at the store I go straight for the kids/baby section. In my dream world I'd be using Pampers Cruisers diapers and never thinking twice! And my fantasies are now exclusively of me doing housework completely undisturbed. Taking closets apart and putting them back together, reorganizing the silverware drawer, wiping down every baseboard, cleaning every corner! The possibilities are endless!

So is it just me? Are the rest of you non-ugly moms still hanging on to that Original Wish List? Or do you have a nice combo list? Perhaps your ideal weekend consists of a marathon trip to Walmart, scrubbing the kitchen floor and then getting a massage afterwards?

I think my OWL is still just getting a house so that I have baseboards to clean. Then I'll pretend I don't have any so I can feel good about getting that mani/pedi/haircut. :D

This is so funny. Because I just got out of bed this morning, but seriously spent a few minutes in bed thinking, "Wow, I would really like to deep-clean our office today. Dreamy..." I have also been on the chocolate and popcorn diet and failed. Dang it. My secret, unrealistic wish list? Sing on Broadway someday. For now I'll have to settle for a stirring rendition of "Twinkle, Twinkle" with my girls. Sigh.

Funny I had that conversation with Chris last night. I asked him what he would do with $500. He didn't come up with a good answer, but of course that was a loaded question because really I wanted to tell him that I want a double BOB stroller. A stroller. That's what I wish for. Sad. And today, with my free time, I went to 3 stores, ALONE. I felt like a new woman. Yep. Sad.

I too have had this thought recently. Why do I even clean? I look around after I have cleaned and the house is still not clean...how does that happen?? Also, I want/need (0: I $1000 sewing machine. Matt laughed and said until recently If I had that $ I would want a diamond and if I had a sewing machine that nice, he would expect me to make all my clothes (0:. Don't get me wrong, I still want the diamond.

lets begin with natalies butt... shes sportin that round bootie!! noo wishin here! as for my actual wish list... i would say combo list for sure.. cleaning the bathrooms without someone sticking her hand or face in the toilet. drinking a Diet Coke without someone having a temper tantrum cause she cant have any...and yes wanting that new yukon is still there. Massages, pedi's weekly, new kids clothes, new CRAYONS, new cooking utensils, a maid, going to the gym wihtout constantly being worried that they will call your name over the overhead since your kid harrassed another or pooped in their pants. So yes, I definatly have a combo list!!

I am always telling Jon how fab it would be to have a day to myself to just CLEAN!no kids around to leave a trail behind me... JON: well, I can stay home and clean while you go to work for me. ME: Sure!
So, Im thinking he's REALLY gonna try to show me up. what does he do? he pays someone to watch the kids! NOT fair. that is not what I call multi-tasking buddy!

I feel ya. Rebekah's in the same boat. In fact, she can't run anywhere without having to hold on to her pants so that they don't flirt with her ankles. My WL has changed a lot. But like Allison, I'm still holding out for a chance to sing on Broadway.

My former wish list is somewhere in my mind......I just can't find it! Tops on my wish list with kids is that Mia and Dallin can make it to bed time without fighting. I'm convinced it will never happen.
